A Guide to Colour
By Dino Reichmuth
How to find the perfect poster for your home.
What do a luxury hotel room and a well-furnished apartment have in common?
They follow a color concept. So first think about which colors are present in your room/apartment. Should the artwork blend in, or should it stand out? For example, if you have white furniture, which is complemented by gray bed linen and a beige carpet, then your room could do with a splash of color. Perhaps a poster catches your eye and gives your room the perfect touch. If your room has beige furniture, with gray curtains, a blue carpet, lots of green plants and a yellow armchair, then the color palette is already relatively broad, and it is best to use a color that is already present. Perhaps a 3-part poster series flirts with the yellow of your armchair, or you decide on a few black and white subjects. One thing is certain: if you choose your colors consciously, you have already won half the battle when it comes to skillful furnishing.
